Their primary role is to teach students how to surf safely, improve their surfing techniques, and enhance their overall surfing experience.  The beach entertainer will also be responsible for the complete beach set-up including loungers, umbrellas and activity equipment.

Job Description:

Plan, organize, and coordinate a wide range of beach activities and entertainment programs for resort guests of all ages.

Lead group activities such as beach games, water sports, fitness classes, team-building exercises, and cultural events.

Conduct surfing lessons for individuals or groups, including beginners, intermediate, and advanced surfers.

Instruct students on surfing techniques, safety procedures, wave dynamics, and ocean awareness.

Demonstrate and explain proper surfing skills, such as paddling, popping up, riding waves, and turning.

Provide personalized feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their surfing abilities.

Ensure the safety of students by monitoring ocean conditions, identifying hazards, and implementing safety measures.

Assist students in selecting appropriate surf equipment, such as surfboards, wetsuits, and leashes.

Communicate effectively with students to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Encourage and motivate students to overcome challenges, build confidence, and enjoy the surfing experience.

Expertise: Surf instructors should have a strong background in surfing with advanced skills and knowledge of surfing techniques, equipment, and ocean conditions. They should be experienced surfers themselves with a passion for the sport.

Teaching Skills: Effective surf instructors possess teaching skills to communicate instructions clearly, demonstrate techniques accurately, and provide constructive feedback to students of all skill levels.

Formal qualification

• Must have a minimum of a grade 8 (Or sufficient literacy and communication skills)
• Previous hospitality experience is an advantage.
• Surf instructor or have done surfing for more than five years.
• Advantage - Body Board instructor or have done Body boarding for more than five years.
