The President Hotel is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation, and we are creating a new opportunity for a Cocktail Bartender to join our Deck Bar team.

We are seeking a talented and charismatic Cocktail Bartender to provide exceptional beverage service at our vibrant Deck Bar. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mixology, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and deliver memorable guest experiences through professional service and creative cocktails.

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years’ bartending experience in a luxury hotel, cocktail bar, or high-end restaurant

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and mixology techniques

• Barista or wine knowledge advantageous

• Excellent guest service and communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism

• Strong attention to detail and presentation

• Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and cash handling

• South African citizen with a valid ID

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wines, and spirits in line with hotel standards

• Deliver excellent guest service, creating a welcoming and engaging bar atmosphere

• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of the Deck Bar at all times

• Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations

• Handle guest queries, complaints, and special requests in a professional manner

• Upsell beverages and promote specials to maximise revenue

• Collaborate with the F&B team to support events, activations, and themed evenings
