Job Purpose

The Internal IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s internal IT infrastructure, systems, security, support operations, cloud platforms, and end-user technology services. This role ensures the stability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency of all internal technology environments while aligning IT services with business objectives.

1. 2.    Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

• Manage and maintain all internal IT infrastructure, including:
• Servers
• Virtualization platforms
• Networking
• Storage
• Cloud platforms
• Microsoft 365 environments
• Identity and access management
• Ensure high availability and reliability of business-critical systems.
• Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Manage datacentre, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Oversee cybersecurity strategy and operational implementation.
• Ensure systems comply with security standards, policies, and best practices.
• Manage:
• Endpoint security
• Firewalls
• MFA
• Identity governance
• Vulnerability management
• SIEM/SOC integrations
• Coordinate incident response and remediation activities.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits.

Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Platforms

• Oversee administration and governance of:
• Microsoft 365
• Entra ID
• Exchange Online
• Teams
• SharePoint
• OneDrive
• Intune
• Purview
• Drive tenant optimization, governance, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure proper permissions, group structures, and compliance controls.

IT Operations & Service Delivery

• Lead the internal IT support and infrastructure teams.
• Manage service desk operations and escalation processes.
• Establish and monitor SLAs and KPIs.
• Ensure efficient incident, problem, and change management practices.
• Improve operational maturity and automation across IT functions.

Cloud & Platform Management

• Manage cloud infrastructure and hosting environments including:
• VMware
• Hyper-V
• Kubernetes platforms
• Hybrid cloud environments
• Oversee cloud cost optimization and resource governance.
• Evaluate and implement modern infrastructure technologies.

Vendor & Project Management

• Manage relationships with:
• Vendors
• MSPs
• Security providers
• Software providers
• Lead IT projects including:
• Migrations
• Infrastructure upgrades
• Security initiatives
• Platform modernization
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and execute the internal IT strategy aligned to business goals.
• Mentor and develop IT staff and technical leads.
• Assist executive leadership with technology planning and budgeting.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in executive and operational planning discussions.

1. 3.    Required Skills & Experience

Technical Experience

• Strong experience with:
• Microsoft 365 administration
• Entra ID / Active Directory
• Networking and firewalls
• VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Windows Server environments
• Cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred)
• Endpoint management
• Cybersecurity operations
• Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, or modern infrastructure orchestration is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of:
• Zero Trust principles
• IAM
• Security operations
• Backup and DR strategies

Leadership Experience

• Experience managing IT operations or infrastructure teams.
• Ability to lead both strategic and operational initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder and communication skills.
• Experience managing projects and vendors.
