Performs tasks/ activities associated with the Payroll and the Human Resources Administration function by executing payroll update, processing, accounting and reporting applications and, attending to the general and/ or personnel administrative procedures and requirements in order to ensure payroll related information is current and accurate, employees and personnel service providers are paid the correct salaries/wage against the rate for the job and any queries and information requests from external departments, employees or the Heads of sections is efficiently attended to and resolved.

 

Key responsibilities

 

 Brilliant Basics

o Correct capture 

o Accurate payroll processing – reduce error rate

o Payroll deadlines managed with HC and 3rd party vendors

o Communicate through social systems with HC and 3rd party vendors

o Close out employee, HC and 3rd party queries

o Payroll simulation

o Month on month payroll recon

o System error trouble shooting and query resolution

o Conduct self-audits

o Tracking system utilization

 

 Value-add

o Review reports and analyse performance vs. the prior month

o Give insights into performance

o Track and monitor SMART actions agreed upon for their centres

o Self-audit a different operation

o SME for a payroll process

o Involvement in the budgeting for employment costs

o Systems UAT

o Monthly 1 on 1’s with manager

o IDP plan completion and execution

o Coaching opportunities within and outside function

Qualifications, Competencies & Experience

 

• An acceptable level of secondary education (Matriculation Certification)

• Minimum relevant payroll accounting and admin experience (2-3 years)

• Computer Literacy

• Planning and Organising

• Integrity

• Attention to detail 

• Adaptability

• Ability to work independently and under pressure
