SILO MANAGER -POS25276
Based: Hopetown – Northern Cape
Salary: R40 – 50 000.00 pm
Core Purpose of the Role
To manage and optimise all silo operations, ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, and the highest standards of quality and service.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a grain or silo environment at a management level.
- Completed Fumigation Course and Grain Grading Courses.
- Proven track record in staff supervision and performance management.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and administrative abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Sound business acumen and a good understanding of the agricultural market environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the silo to ensure efficient grain handling, grading, storage, and dispatch.
- Manage and develop silo staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
- Monitor operational costs and implement effective budget management and cost-control measures.
- Maintain compliance with all fumigation, safety, and grain quality standards.
- Uphold excellent customer relationships through reliable service delivery and professional communication.
- Oversee all administrative and financial processes related to silo operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability.
