About the Role

 

Are you an experienced facilities leader looking to drive operational excellence across regional operations? We are seeking a dynamic Facilities Manager, based at our head office in Centurion, to provide strategic leadership and comprehensive oversight across facility operations, administration, maintenance, and safety compliance for all our regional sites nationwide.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Strategic Facilities Management

  • Develop and implement long-term facility maintenance strategies

  • Conduct high-level site inspections and risk audits 

  • Ensure strict compliance with SHE policies and local regulations

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight for facilities, cleaning, and security personnel

  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and SLA compliance.

Building and Infrastructure Operations

  • Inspect core structural, mechanical, and electrical elements regularly.

  • Manage HVAC, plumbing, power grids, and life-safety systems.

  • Execute routine, reactive, and preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Oversee site access, building security, and fire alarm protocols

Stakeholder and Project Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding facility requirements

  • Manage cross-functional projects, such as office expansions or facility upgrades

  • Coordinate with external contractors, service providers, and landlords to ensure facility standards are met

  • Communicate facility status, risks, and strategic initiatives to senior management.

Contractor and Vendor Oversight

  • Hire and supervise external technicians and specialized trade crews.

  • Track contractor performance against service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Review work orders, project scopes, and completion quality

Financial and Asset Management

  • Develop, forecast, and manage annual facility budgets 

  • Monitor monthly expenditure, analyze variances, and initiate cost-saving measures 

  • Oversee the lifecycle management, utilization, and preventative maintenance of all company assets 

  • Manage procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational standards.

Operational Leadership and Team Management

  • Provide ongoing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports

  • Set clear, measurable KPIs and performance objectives for team members Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement 

  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and succession planning to ensure business continuity.

Health, Safety, and Compliance (SHE)

  • Define and drive the regional/national safety culture

  • Design, implement, and audit facility safety plans 

  • Lead safety committee meetings and incident investigations 

  • Ensure full compliance with legislative requirements and company standards 

  • Drive safety education, training programs, and regular emergency drills to mitigate business risk.




MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12 or equivalent 

  • Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management

  • Property Management, or Business Administration.

  • 5-8 years of proven experience in a senior facilities management leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of administrative, financial, and regulatory procedures, including multi-site management, vendor management, and CAPEX project execution.

  • Strategic thinking

  • Leadership and people management

  • Financial acumen, stakeholder management.

  • Advanced communication skills, technical proficiency (e.g., CMMS/BMS software)

  • Advanced problem-solving, legislative knowledge (e.g., OHSA compliance)

  • Emotional intelligence.
