Job Title : Shift Process Superintendent
Grade : C4
Reports to : Process Foreman
Department : Production
Main purpose of the job
- To plan Back End shift operations in accordance with agreed KPI’s.
- Identifies improvement opportunities to meet sugar production targets
- Eliminates / reduces sucrose loss to effluent and ICW
- Minimize molasses losses to improve BHR
- Performs planned job observation on routine and/or hazardous tasks
- Provides on-the-job training and coaching to operators
- Co-ordination of ‘stop day’ plan and directing team members to perform effective maintenance, during season and off-crop.
- Responsible for conducting all vessel inspections and ensuring that all defects are attended to by both process and service department
- Ensuring all sugar quality standards and specifications are achieved and maintained.
- Planning and ensuring that vessel liquidation is executed in season and for end of season boil-off
- Responsible for inspecting and ensuring that Raw House infrastructure is maintained
- Responsible for all aspects of Raw House housekeeping
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric, with Maths and Science
- SASA Sugar modules would be an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience or practical experience in a sugar manufacturing environment in a Supervisory role would be an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to perform disciplinary enquiries – initiating and investigation
- Computer literacy and SAP experience.
- A team player with good leadership, organizational and planning skills that is dedicated, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
- Compliance with SHEQ and Food Safety standards and procedures
