Job Title: Project Planner

Location: South Africa, Northern Cape, Northern Cape

Job Type: 14 month Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using project management software
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues
  • Prepare reports on project status, including milestones and budget updates
  • Assist in resource allocation and budget planning for projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met
  • Reports to the on-site construction manager
  • Supporting the on-site construction manager and Project Manager
  • Scheduler to be involved in all meetings with the Contractor and provide planning related inputs to support function readiness
  • Plan in detail a 2-week look ahead for construction activities in detailed measurable blocks taking into account all dependent document submissions which need to be in an approved state for works to commence
  • Update progress, document and provide photographic evidence of daily progress and deficiencies
  • Three sites are near: Nieuwehoop Substation (Northern Cape Province); Mookodi Substation (North West Province); Aggeneis Substation (Northern Cape Province)

Education:

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a project planner or scheduler in the construction industry

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Understanding of construction project lifecycle
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Proven experience as a project planner or scheduler in the construction industry
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
