Our Client a Global tech firm is seeking a Strategic Portfolio Manager  to join their team in Cape Town on a contract for 12 months (Onsite)

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead the analysis and enhancement of our Project Office. This role involves evaluating current project office structures, compiling a comprehensive strategy document, and reviewing or developing key project office policies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of project governance, and the ability to drive strategic improvements across the PMO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • setting up a Strategic Portfolio Office
  • Analysis of the current state of PM
  • Development of relevant SPO Policy, documents, and strategy for institutionalisation and implementation
  • Analysis of current systems Project for the Web
    Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing Project Office framework, tools, and processes.
  • Develop a strategy document outlining recommendations for improving project governance, delivery, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Review existing PMO policies and procedures; identify gaps and propose updates or new policies where needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather insights and ensure alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops or meetings to present findings and gain buy-in for proposed changes.
  • Monitor implementation of approved strategies and policies, ensuring adherence and effectiveness.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes.

Experience:

  • Matric and a Bachelors degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 8 years in a PMO or governance role.
  • Strong understanding of project methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile).
  • Proven experience in policy development and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
