Our client, a leading importer of petroleum products is looking for a skilled and experienced Accounting and Finance professional to join their team and oversee financial activities related to the importation of petroleum products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience in the petroleum industry, and a proactive approach to financial management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting and financial reporting for petroleum import transactions.

  • Monitor and reconcile import-related accounts, including payments, receivables, and payables.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, shipping companies, and customs agencies to ensure smooth importation processes.

  • Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts related to petroleum imports.

  • Conduct cost analysis and financial modeling to optimize importation strategies and pricing.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for petroleum imports.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as procurement and logistics, to streamline import operations and minimize costs.

  • Perform periodic audits and financial reviews to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making related to importation strategies and investments.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting petroleum imports.

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred.

  • Strong understanding of importation processes, customs regulations, and financial aspects of petroleum trading.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

  • Knowledge of international accounting standards and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the petroleum or energy sector.
