Our client is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their team. The Warehouse Manager will be required to manage the supply chain activities and demands of the respective business units at one location ensuring accuracy of warehouse administration and systems. This includes Raw Material Warehouse Management, integration with demand planning and operations to ensure consistency and continuity of supply, Finished Goods Warehouse Management, Dispatch Distribution and Service provider management.

Warehouse and Stock Management
-
Proactively manage the warehouse to ensure a controlled environment; accurate receipting of goods; timeous issuing and distribution of materials and consumables to the factory (thereby meeting the on going demands of production); and the dispatch of goods to clients (OTIF).

Supervise and continuously review the consolidated Despatch department and processes to ensure that all activities are planned, co-ordinated and continuously improved to meet on-time and in-full delivery objectives.

Ensure security of product being despatched as well as security of non-product goods formally leaving the premises via or under the control of the Despatch operations team.

Protect and maintain vehicle assets.

Maintain a robust raw material return process from production, which will foster better utilisation and reduce wastage and raise any issues pertaining to planning or production at the production meeting.

Escalate all non-conformances with workable plans to Management to achieve compliance and data integrity.

Manage the cataloguing of stock to ensure rotation and effective use of the limited warehouse space.

Ensure that the principals of FIFO (first in first out) are maintained so as to avoid incorrect ageing of FG stock

Expedite Sales Order Deliveries

Informs reps and or business units if sales orders are not delivered or part delivered and gives a new delivery date if necessary.

Liaise with Production Planner pertaining to all late deliveries.

Stock take
-
Manage the reconciliation of physical stock take to system stock.

Determines the cause of the variances and report discrepancies to the Commercial Manager. • Ensure quantity and value accuracy with minimum stock write offs.

Compile monthly stock reports for management meetings.

Slow moving and obsolete stock
-
In conjunction with the Commercial and Financial Manager, prepare a list of slow moving and obsolete stock and forward to the Managing Director, Commercial and Sales to find new potential sales.

Identify stock which can be sold or transferred to other warehouses or validated by the Managing Director for write off.

Ensure that stock write-off requisitions are carried-out timeously and that stock is physically disposed of.

Downtime

Identify trends on vehicle downtime and vehicle lost time (waiting time at clients etc). • Analyse root cause, frequency and implement preventative measures.

Ensure that raw material stores have optimum stock holding by evaluating quarterly throughput statistics and inventory levels.

Housekeeping / Health & Safety

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Continuous improvement in 5S's.

Ensure warehouse staff complies with OSHA and MSDS Standards in stacking and storing of goods.

Ensure that Warehouse, Despatch and Driver safety standards are met by analysing and rectifying the root causes of incidents and the prevention thereof.

Ensure that the Warehouse, Despatch and Vehicle housekeeping is of the highest standard. • Ensure staff always use PPE provided and all other safety equipment.
