Our client is looking for a Business Development Director specialising in energy efficiency applications on sites such as boilers, heat exchanges, and other utility management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and coordinate business meetings with prospective clients for energy solutions.
- Promote the company’s products/services while addressing or predicting clients’ objectives/challenges.
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Develop strong relationships with route-to-market partners.
- Define and manage a realistic pipeline that meets and exceeds annual targets.
- Engage and grow the existing customer base by integrating energy management solutions.
- Maintain professional working relationships with clients and partners.
- Work closely with technical, treatment, and tendering teams on new opportunities.
- Participate in and lead the execution and management of all commercial and contractual matters at tender, bid clarification, and negotiation stages.
- Conduct plant audits to develop energy management value propositions for clients.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and operations optimization on contracts involving energy management.
- Represent the company during technical and commercial meetings with potential customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Mentor engineers through guidance and knowledge transfer.
- Prepare and present technical proposals and tenders to clients.
- Actively manage all clients, sales, leads, and opportunities within the designated CRM system.
- Participate in developing and optimizing overall bid strategies and sales & marketing strategies.
- Ensure constant visibility of the company via regular presentations at seminars and conferences.
- Provide regular feedback to the management team on progress within various business segments.
- Ensure health and safety legislation and contractual obligations are adhered to throughout the project.

- Computer literacy in Google Workspace tools and experience with cloud computing solutions such as DocuSign.
- Strong understanding of fundamental contractual issues, business, and commercial skills.
- Experience with energy performance contracts, renewable energy projects, and energy management solutions.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, Industrial) or a relevant field.
- Five to ten years of experience in business development, with a focus on energy efficiency and utilities management.
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer is an advantage.
