Our client is looking for a Portfolio Manager in the Agriculture sector to join their team. The company is one of the largest privately-owned providers of specialised financial solutions and advisory services to businesses and high-net-worth individuals in South Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Growth: Play a pivotal role in driving business growth, maximizing profitability, and fostering strong client relationships through effective new business development, rigorous financial analysis, and strategic cross-selling efforts.
  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within specific sectors (e.g., Agriculture, Transport, Technology, Renewable Energy, Yellow Metal, etc.).
  • Client Pipeline: Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients (and/or suppliers where applicable) and deals.
  • Market Analysis: Analyse market trends to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Client Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and propose tailored financial solutions.
  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals that meet both client requirements and company objectives.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Financial Viability: Evaluate the financial viability of proposed deals and assess their potential impact on overall profitability.
  • Transaction Execution: Ensure timely and efficient execution of new business transactions from initiation to closure.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with existing clients to uncover additional business needs and promote complementary products or services from within the group.
  • Lead Quality Measurement: Measure the quality of leads provided to other business units within the company, prioritizing quality over quantity.

  • Familiarity with the National Credit Act.

Qualifications:

  • BCom degree with Finance and/or Mathematics, Accounting as a subject(s).
