Our client is looking for a Packaging Buyer.

Responsibilities:

• Source and procure high-quality packaging materials for local and international clients.
• Deliver exceptional value for money and ensure timely delivery of products.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand packaging requirements and develop effective procurement strategies.
• Research, identify, and evaluate potential packaging suppliers, considering factors such as quality, cost, and sustainability.
• Manage supplier relationships and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and minimize waste.
• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in packaging materials and technologies.
• Identify sustainable and cost-saving packaging opportunities in gifting and spice categories.
• Source and develop packaging solutions, including trial processes and problem-solving.
• Provide technical support for packaging development and innovation.
• Run daily reports on stock, minimum inventory, and production planning.
• Place daily orders with suppliers.
• Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
• Communicate and follow up with key suppliers regularly.
• Perform general administration tasks.
• Attend and prepare for weekly SOP meetings.
• Keep abreast of and research new packaging concepts, trends, market activity, and innovation.
• Assist in packaging samples during development and packaging trials.
• Provide technical problem-solving support to internal departments (NPD & Procurement).
• Assist with supplier quotations and liaison (gifting).
• Support and assist the Packaging Lead.

Key Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.,
• Technical knowledge and understanding of printing processes and specifications.,
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.,
• Intermediate level fluency in Excel.,
• Strong project management and coordination skills.,

• Must have worked in FMCG buying Packaging.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in Packaging Technology, Project Management, or relevant business and/or logistics.
• 2-4 years of similar experience aligned with Packaging Buyer key functional duties.
• Experience in the Food and Beverage Manufacturing industry.
• Advantageous experience in Graphic Design (including packaging design), Product Development, Commercial roles, and Syspro.
