Our client is looking for a self-motivated, commercially aware, and hands-on experienced finance professional with manufacturing/engineering knowledge to join their finance group as the Financial Manager for their business in South Africa. This is an exciting and autonomous opportunity to join a niche global technology group and take a pivotal role in a small but niche business.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts with analyses.
  • Compile and present financial reports to the group financial team.
  • Provide insight into the business to improve financial performance.
  • Full accountability for the implementation of finance controls within the business.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Prepare annual budgets.
  • Analyze, forecast, and manage site finances under the group’s reporting structure.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Project Financial Support:
  • Provide financial support to the project management team by delivering accurate financial reports per project.
  • Oversee pricing of sales opportunities and operational charge out/recovery rates.
  • Creditors, Debtors, and Treasury:
  • Oversee the Creditors, Debtors, and Treasury (cashflows) functions.
  • Compile VAT and Income tax returns and relevant calculations.
  • Audit and Compliance:
  • Prepare annual financial statements in Caseware.
  • Take full ownership of the half-year and full-year audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ensure corporate governance and compliance are in place.
  • ERP System Implementation:
  • Drive strategic projects, including ERP system implementations, to enhance the reliability of financial reporting.

  • Suggested: Microsoft Dynamics NAV, 2 to 3 years’ experience on any reputable accounting package, Caseware.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English.
  • Hardworking and driven person who works independently and accurately to meet deadlines.
  • Assertive nature, robust but not abrasive.
  • Logical and analytical thinker.
  • Excellent administration skills, flexible and willing to assist.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B Com (Hons) degree with a minimum of 2 years of commercial experience.
  • Preferred Education: CIMA, CA (SA).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of financial management experience in the manufacturing industry.
