Unit Manager - Surgical ICU (POS24218)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.

REQUIREMENTS

• Essential Education:   3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Nursing management qualification; Postgraduate qualification in the unit’s specialist area
• Desired Education:  Nursing education qualification
• Essential Minimum Experience:  At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital; 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital
• Desired Experience:  Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
• Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
• Lead and manage the staff in the unit
• Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
• Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
• Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
• Manage key stakeholder relations
