Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Millwright to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance on water treatment plants in accordance with maintenance schedules and standards.
• Undertake fabrication tasks and ensure all work meets quality standards.
• Maintain safety precautions, sound housekeeping, and due care of all equipment under your control.
• Conduct routine and special maintenance interventions on machinery and equipment.
• Assist with commissioning of new or modified plants and manage shutdown/startup procedures.
• Supervise general workers and other artisans as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and legal requirements, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act or the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Manage workshop tools, equipment, and maintenance records.
• Be available for 24-hour rotational standby duties and respond to callouts.
• Participate in training programs and promote a culture of safety and development within the team.

• Strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Proficiency in safety compliance and legal standards.
• Computer literacy, including Google Sheets/Excel and Google Docs/Word.
• Excellent teamwork, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Adaptability to work shifts, standby duties, and overtime when required.
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a Millwright artisan.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Medically fit to work on industrial and mining sites.

Qualifications:

• Certified Trade Test as a Millwright.
• Possession of a wireman’s license is desirable.
• Grade 12 / N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification (preferred).
