Our client is looking for a Workshop Foreman who is experienced, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a diverse range of agricultural machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance and repair of a fleet of agricultural machinery, including tractors (JD5415, JD5616, MF275, New Holland 8030, New Holland 6610), fertiliser units, boom sprayers, slashers, and tipper trailers.
  • Conduct transmission and engine overhauls with a high level of proficiency.
  • Manage repairs and maintenance of specialised equipment such as Fabrimech jumbo fertiliser units, ripper attachments, seed cane trailers, perri loaders, and Bell three-wheelers cane loaders.
  • Perform fabrication and welding tasks, ensuring that all repairs and modifications meet industry standards.
  • Accurately diagnose issues, estimate repair costs, and prepare detailed quotations.
  • Select and liaise with suppliers to procure the highest quality components at competitive prices.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient workshop environment, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

Key Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Proficient in transmission and engine overhauls, as well as hydraulic systems.
  • Skilled in fabrication, welding, and general workshop tasks.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills with the ability to provide accurate repair estimates and quotations.
  • Strong supplier management skills, with the ability to source high-quality components cost-effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, with fluency in English. Portuguese language skills are an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a team and ensure efficient workshop operations.
  • Proven experience as a Workshop Foreman or similar role, preferably within the agricultural or industrial sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of agricultural machinery and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant technical qualification or trade certification in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
