The Hotel Trainer forms part of the centralised Human Resources team, supporting both Oude Werf Hotel and Stellenbosch Hotel. Reporting to the Head of HR and General Managers, this role is responsible for driving a culture of service excellence through the design, delivery and facilitation of training across all departments. The successful candidate will develop and implement annual training plans, conduct classroom training and on-the-floor coaching, develop and maintain training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), lead inductions and seasonal staff training, assess learning outcomes, identify service gaps, and implement training interventions that enhance employee performance and guest satisfaction. The role also involves monitoring training effectiveness, supporting compliance reporting, collaborating closely with department heads and operational teams, and coordinating all in-house training initiatives to ensure alignment with operational standards, service excellence and continuous improvement across both properties.

Requirements:

–        Relevant qualification in Hospitality, Training, Human Resources, Education, or a related field (NQF 5)

–        Assessor/Facilitator certification (advantageous)

–        3 years’ experience in hospitality training, guest relations, front office, food & beverage, or hotel operations

–        Strong facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills

–        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

–        Ability to influence, motivate, and engage employees at all levels

–        Strong planning, organizational, and administrative skills

–        Proactive, assertive, and results-driven approach
