Position Summary The Bartender duties include, prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages based on the guests request, upsell items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Service: • Take drink orders accurately and efficiently from guests, both at the bar and in designated seating areas (if applicable). • Utilize your beverage knowledge to recommend drinks that suit guest preferences, including classic cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options. • Prepare a variety of cocktails, following recipes precisely and maintaining quality and consistency. • Ensure proper identification is checked for alcoholic beverages. • Serve beverages with confidence and proper technique, using appropriate glassware and maintaining a clean presentation.
Guest service: • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring guests have a positive and enjoyable experience at the bar. • Anticipatory service: go beyond simply taking orders and fulfilling requests, reading guest cues and proactively offering suggestions to enhance the dining experience. • Build rapport and personalization: establish genuine connections with guests, remember preferences, offer personalized recommendations, and ensure comfort and enjoyment to guests. • Handling challenging situations: exhibit poise and professionalism when faced with difficult guests, complaints, or unexpected circumstances, find solutions to maintain satisfaction. • Assist guests with menu selections, dietary requirements, and special requests, providing knowledgeable recommendations and information about menu items.
Revenue Generation: • Actively upsell, suggestive selling and cross-sell opportunities to maximize revenue per guest. • Collaborate with the management team to implement promotional initiatives and strategies to drive revenue growth. • Meet and exceed individual revenue targets set (food& beverage) (weekly/monthly) • Bar Upkeep & Maintenance • Maintain a clean and well-stocked bar throughout your shift. This includes restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and following all sanitation protocols. • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Bar Manager.
Inventory Management: • Participate in inventory control by keeping track of liquor, beer, and other bar supplies. • Daily stock take and wastage reporting • Assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Qualifications And Education Requirements: • Grade 12.
Experience: • Minimum 1 year of experience bartending in a fast-paced environment (preferred).
Preferred Skill: • Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks. • Ability to stand for long periods of time and move quickly throughout the bar. • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. • Basic math skills and cash handling experience are a plus. • Ability to learn and adapt to new drink recipes and techniques. • Must be at least 21 years of age (or the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction).restaurant management software and POS systems.
