Our client is looking for a highly skilled Workshop Technician with a strong electrical background to join their team. The ideal candidate must be a qualified Millwright with experience in the FMCG sector and will be responsible for repairing and maintaining large machinery on-site at client locations across Gauteng.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair complex machinery on-site at client locations in a timely and professional manner.
- Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot equipment.
- Conduct testing and trial runs on machinery and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Install, commission, and provide training on new equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on complex machinery either on-site or in the workshop.
- Provide prompt assistance and advice to clients regarding breakdowns and repairs.
- Manage and complete multiple job cards within tight deadlines.
- Ensure all customer service requests are actioned as per schedule and expectations are exceeded.
- Analyze and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, arranging for necessary parts and repairs.
- Write detailed reports on findings, services rendered, and recommended repairs.
- Maintain safety standards both on-site and in-house.
- Be part of an on-call standby team every second week, including weekends when required.

- Strong technical skills in electrical systems, machinery diagnostics, and repairs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-driven, with the ability to take initiative and solve complex problems efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer literacy for job card management and reporting.
- Fluency in Afrikaans is beneficial, as a significant portion of the client base is Afrikaans-speaking.
- Experience in field service, involving travel to client locations, is essential.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability and willingness to travel across Gauteng for on-site repairs.
Qualifications:
- Trade tested Millwright with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in the FMCG sector is a must.
