Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in machine building and hands-on testing, especially in project development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating innovative concepts and will take a practical approach to testing machinery, working directly with clients.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems and machinery, with a focus on small-scale machinery.
• Generate innovative concepts for mechanical components and systems.
• Conduct hands-on testing, both practical and physical, ensuring that designs meet performance and safety standards.
• Work on-site with clients to test and validate machinery, ensuring functionality and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical Engineers and other departments, to ensure project goals are met.
• Manage the entire project lifecycle, from concept to implementation and client testing.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Liaise with clients to ensure their needs are met and offer technical support during equipment installation.
• Lead and guide teams on mechanical design projects, ensuring effective collaboration.

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for creating detailed 3D models and production drawings.
• Strong practical experience in machine building and hands-on testing.
• Background in stainless steel manufacturing and working with small machinery.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and various departments.
• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, demonstrating resilience and patience.
• Demonstrated ability to bring new ideas to life and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
• Familiarity with project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in mechanical design or machine building.
• Hands-on experience in testing and developing small machinery, particularly in manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with safety and industry standards relevant to mechanical design and client interaction.
• Experience in managing projects from inception to implementation, with a focus on client-facing roles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
