Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Stock and Warehouse Controller to support the Head of Operations & Logistics in managing warehouse functions and stock movements. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the effective distribution of stock, operational efficiency, and cost control within the FMCG sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Management & Stock Control:
  • Ensure a safe warehouse environment, adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Manage warehouse operations, stock accuracy, and implement best practices.
  • Oversee stock counts, maintain warehouse security, and control access.
  • Manage third-party warehouses and ensure SLAs are adhered to.
  • Stock Movement:
  • Coordinate stock movement from manufacturing to warehouses and dispatch.
  • Maintain an “In Full” performance target of at least 90%.
  • Manage the movement of stock between warehouses, balancing efficiency and cost.
  • Cost Control:
  • Review and approve warehouse and transport billing.
  • Maximize HQ warehouse utilization, negotiate delivery rates, and ensure minimal stock wastage.
  • Investigate stock damages and recover costs from suppliers or partners where applicable.
  • Reporting:
  • Weekly reporting of stock on hand, including risk items and short-dated stock.
  • Monthly performance reports on stock levels, warehouse costs, and primary distribution.
  • Order & Sample Processing:
  • Efficiently process customer orders, sample requests, and stock allocations for internal stakeholders.
  • Manage all courier requests for stock, including international samples.
  • Factory Shop Management:
  • Establish and oversee the Factory Shop, driving awareness and volume targets.

Key Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, logistics software, and advanced Excel for data analysis.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and collaboratively across departments.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Warehouse Controller, ideally within FMCG.
  • Proficient with logistics software and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications:

  • Related Degree/Diploma preferred; minimum Grade 12.
