Release Train Engineer / Programme Manager

Job Description

Release Train Engineer / Programme Manager will support the client project, a strategic Investment Administration transformation programme focused on the migration from legacy investment administration platforms to the SS&C / Geneva target architecture.The resource will be responsible for end-to-end programme delivery coordination across multiple workstreams, including technology delivery, vendor alignment, integration readiness, environment readiness, SIT/UAT planning, test execution governance, defect management, migration readiness, stakeholder communication, decision tracking, risk management and SteerCo reporting.The role will operate across business, operations, technology, architecture, QA, infrastructure, enablement, data migration, reconciliation, reporting, vendor and production support teams to ensure that programme delivery remains aligned to scope, timelines, governance standards and agreed business outcomes.The RTE / Programme Manager must provide strong delivery leadership in a hybrid Agile/waterfall environment, ensuring clear ownership, disciplined execution, dependency transparency, timely escalation and quality assurance across the programme.

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and facilitate programme increment planning sessions and related agile ceremonies.
  • Manage the programme backlog, prioritising features and work items in line with business priorities.
  • Track progress against programme objectives, milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Identify, assess and manage risks, impediments, and dependencies across teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery processes and team performance.
  • Provide regular status reports and updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and encourage a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Lead change management efforts related to programme delivery and adoption.
  • Ensure resource allocation aligns with programme requirements and timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management or related field.
  • Professional certification in programme or project management such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), or equivalent.
  • Certification or proven experience in Agile frameworks, for example, SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) Release Train Engineer or Agile Project Management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Information Technology, Finance or a related discipline.

Experience

  • At least five years’ experience managing complex programmes or large-scale projects within the banking and finance sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering multi-team agile programmes or release trains.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, including engagement with senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks, dependencies and escalations effectively.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of programme management methodologies and agile delivery frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts within diverse teams.
  • Proficient in the use of programme management tools and software.
