CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
• To teach TVET subjects on the Advance Diploma TVET programme as well as Education theory at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. • To supervise postgraduate students in TVET related fields. • To engage in the assessment of WIL for the Advance Dip TVET programme. • To publish and lead research in TVET fields. • To participate in Community Engagement activities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Facilitate learning, teaching, and assessment processes in the Faculty. • Engage in scholarly work with an increased focus on the Africanisation and Decolonization of TVET. • Participate in research collaboration in the field of TVET. • Engage in postgraduate supervision in TVET related fields. • Participate in Faculty administration.
CORE COMPETENCIES
• Ability to facilitate learning processes in TVET subjects. • Ability to facilitate the teaching of TVET subjects on the Advance Diploma TVET. • A sound knowledge of teaching & assessment strategies within the digital space as it relates to TVET subjects. • Ability to adapt the teaching of TVET subjects to a diverse group of students. • Ability to conduct scholarly work with an increased focus on the Africanization and Decolonization of TVET within the context of education. • Supervision of postgraduate students in TVET related fields. • Ability to work and effectively engage in interdisciplinary discourses in TVET. • Facilitate and engage in curriculum development processes for TVET related subjects. • Ability to work in Moodle or related online platform.
REQUIREMENTS
• A relevant MEd or equivalent masters. • Possession of academic qualifications in TVET. • A sound disciplinary and content knowledge of TVET subjects • Experience in teaching TVET subjects at university level or in the post-schooling sector. • Proficient in online learning strategies. • Experience with Moodle, or similar learning platforms. • A PhD will be an added advantage • Supervision of post graduate studies would be an added advantage. • A publication track record would be ab added advantage.
