Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Controller to manage and coordinate the daily operations of their fleet. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient utilization of vehicles, compliance with policies and regulations, and maintain excellent communication with drivers and clients. This role is critical to ensuring smooth logistics operations and optimal fleet performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Coordination:

    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including vehicle scheduling, routing, and tracking.
    • Ensure timely dispatch of vehicles and monitor the progress of deliveries or pickups.
  • Driver Management:

    • Assign tasks to drivers and provide clear instructions regarding routes and schedules.
    • Monitor driver performance and adherence to company policies and road safety regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance:

    • Schedule routine maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition.
    • Coordinate vehicle repairs and resolve breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including licensing and insurance.
    • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and driver logs.
  • Problem Solving:

    • Address and resolve logistical issues, such as route changes, delays, or customer complaints.
    • Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges in fleet operations.
  • Reporting and Communication:

    • Prepare and submit regular reports on fleet performance, fuel efficiency, and expenses.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, drivers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of fleet management systems and GPS tracking software.
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.
  • Experience in the [industry, e.g., FMCG, logistics, or transportation] sector is an advantage.
