About the Role

As Branch Manager, you will oversee branch resources and processes to ensure customer contracts are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in strict adherence to the company’s security protocols. You will be responsible for enhancing branch profitability and security by managing Cash in Transit (CIT), the Cash Processing Centre (CPC), Control Room, Safety, Security, personnel, and the Vault.

Key Responsibilities

Financial and Asset Management

  • Manage the branch’s financial performance effectively, ensuring alignment between actual results, budgets, and forecasts, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Optimise the use and maintenance of company assets, including vehicles and Cash Processing Centre equipment, to maximise lifespan and efficiency.

Employee Management and Development

  • Set clear objectives and performance standards for all team members, ensuring a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage performance, providing constructive feedback and applying fair, consistent disciplinary measures in line with current legislation.
  • Lead succession planning initiatives and actively support Employment Equity.
  • Ensure all employees receive training that meets operational and statutory requirements.
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting staff motivation and engagement.

Operational Excellence

  • Allocate resources efficiently, continuously reviewing operations to improve profitability and customer service, implementing changes promptly.
  • Maintain all customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and resolve any issues swiftly.
  • Address audit findings and operational metrics in a timely manner.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies, including Health and Safety, security, personnel, finance, and transport.

Security and Risk Management

  • Adhere strictly to group and company standards for risk and security mitigation across all business areas.

Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities within the branch’s scope.
  • Continuously monitor the market environment, including competitors and existing customers.
  • Promote upselling of products and new services tailored to customers’ needs and risk profiles.

Health and Safety

  • Contribute to the design, review, implementation, and monitoring of branch, regional, and national safety plans annually.
  • Report safety incidents promptly to relevant authorities.
  • Follow up on actions arising from safety meetings, committees, representatives, and management.
  • Participate in safety training and refresher programmes.
  • Comply fully with workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Disseminate safety information as required.
  • Wear protective clothing at all times whilst on site.

Candidate Profile

  • Matriculation / Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • A three-year tertiary qualification, preferably in General Management or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry experience, particularly within Cash in Transit (CIT) and Cash Management, is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of three to five years’ management experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of financial information, including Profit and Loss statements.
  • Proven expertise in Customer Relationship Management.
