Role Purpose

The Asset Controller will be responsible for the control, monitoring, and optimization of all company assets. This includes stock management, disposals, asset lifecycle tracking, supplier quotations, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards and internal audit requirements. The role is critical in maintaining accurate asset records, minimizing losses, and supporting operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock Control
    • Manage and monitor incoming and outgoing stock
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping of asset movements
    • Perform regular stock counts and reconciliations
  • Quotations & Procurement Support
    • Source and compare supplier quotes
    • Support procurement processes by ensuring cost-effective and compliant purchasing
  • Asset Control
    • Maintain an up-to-date asset register
    • Track the lifecycle of assets from acquisition to disposal
    • Tag, label, and categorize all physical assets
  • Disposals Register
    • Maintain a structured disposal register for written-off or sold assets
    • Ensure all disposals are logged, authorized, and compliant with company policies
  • Audits & Compliance (ISO & Internal)
    • Prepare asset-related documentation for ISO and internal audits
    • Support audit processes by ensuring full traceability of assets
    • Implement corrective actions and improvements where needed
  • Reporting
    • Generate regular reports on stock levels, disposals, asset utilization, and variances
    • Provide insights to management for decision-making

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Knowledge of asset management systems or ERP software
  • Good financial and numerical literacy (handling quotes, valuations, and reconciliations)
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and audit processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant qualification in Asset Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Finance (preferred)
  • 2–5 years’ experience in asset or stock management (preferably in IT/operations environment)
  • Experience with audits and compliance (ISO experience advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and asset management tools

  • Accuracy of stock records vs physical stock
  • Timely and accurate reporting
  • Compliance with audit requirements
  • Cost savings/efficiency improvements in asset lifecycle
  • Effective management of disposals and reduction in asset losses
