Job Description: Human Resource Director

Job Duties:

• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
• Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
• Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management
• Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
• Design and implement training programmes to enhance employee skills and knowledge
• Manage compensation and benefits plans
• Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programmes
• Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven work experience as an HR Director or similar executive role
• Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases
• Ability to architect strategy, along with excellent leadership skills

Experience:

Proven work experience as an HR Director or similar executive role

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of South African labour legislation and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• Professional HR certification such as CIPD
• Experience in the construction and manufacturing industries

Working Conditions:

The role of Human Resource Director may require occasional travel and flexibility with working hours to accommodate business needs. The position involves working in an office environment with regular interaction with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
