Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Plant Accountant to oversee plant-level accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance within the FMCG, food, or beverage industry and significant experience working with SAP and large data sets.
Responsibilities

Review general ledger, customer, and vendor accounts

Oversee day-to-day accounting and month-end closing activities
-
Prepare and finalize financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements

Conduct monthly book closures and trial balance validation
-
Perform fixed asset accounting and prepare reconciliations for banks, customers, and vendors
-
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare operational tax return schedules
-
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Purchase, HR, Admin, Marketing, and CP) to collect and review financial information

Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and related financial reports

Review submitted budgets and monitor performance against them

Conduct detailed provision analysis and journal entry preparation

Perform costing and pricing analysis, and monitor variances in price, quantity, yield, and overhead

Handle tax accounting and preparation of tax schedules

Coordinate internal and external audits

Ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements such as VAT, PF, TDS, and Companies Act
-
Manage and analyze large data sets using Excel and SAP
Key Skills

In-depth understanding of accounting principles, including IFRS and US GAAP

Strong skills in financial analysis, reconciliation, budgeting, and reporting

Proficiency in SAP (minimum 3–5 years of experience)

Advanced Excel skills and ability to manage large data sets

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Excellent communication and coordination skills

Attention to detail and analytical mindset

10–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in the FMCG, food, or beverage industry

Working knowledge of Indian compliance regulations
