Job Description:

The Assistant Driver plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery operations within the Retail and Wholesale industry. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Driver in transporting goods and products safely and efficiently to their designated locations across Johannesburg Metro, Gauteng, South Africa.

Job Duties:

• Assist the Driver in loading and unloading goods onto the delivery vehicle
• Ensure all goods are securely strapped and safely stored during transportation
• Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by the Driver
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Report any issues or incidents to the Driver immediately
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's Licence
• Good physical fitness for lifting and moving heavy items
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Prior experience as a Driver Assistant or in a similar role preferred
• Knowledge of road safety regulations
• Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional training or certification in logistics or transportation
• Experience in retail or wholesale delivery operations
