Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management and construction contracts, with a focus on delivering accurate reporting and effective variation control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections for projects.

• Manage and control project costs throughout the lifecycle of construction.

• Conduct regular cost reporting, including forecasting and financial progress updates.

• Monitor and manage variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.

• Review and approve contractor and supplier payment claims.

• Assist with tender evaluations and procurement processes.

• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and project timelines.

• Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients regarding cost-related matters.

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and project documentation.

Skills

• Proficient in BuildSmart and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Excellent knowledge of contractual terms and conditions.

• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying.

• Minimum 4–6 years’ post-qualification experience in quantity surveying.

• Proven experience in project cost management, reporting, and variation control.
