CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of this post is to provide support services in the George Campus Finance Department. Services include cashier services for students, staff, and the public, as well as assisting with the financial administration of the George Campus.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Performing all cashier-related functions
  • Manage fuel store
  • Process George Campus journals
  • Assist with creditor reconciliations
  • Procurement functions for the George Campus
  • Performing the reception duties at the George Campus
  • Assist with general enquiries
 

CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proven experience and accuracy in handling large volumes of cash in excess of R100 000 is essential, Preference will be given to applicants who have relevant bank teller experience.
    • Computer literate
    • Good understanding of accounting principles and systems
    • Good analytical skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders
    • Positive work attitude
    • Ability to work both alone and within a team to achieve specified standards

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment to this post, the candidate must have

  • Matric with at least a minimum of two years’ experience in a financial environment; banking experience will receive preference
