Deloitte is looking for a Legal Counsel / HOD Legal to join one of our clients in a permanent role.

TO NOTE: This role is ideally for someone willing to relocate to EMEA region (Dubai).

The Opportunity

Seeking a versatile and strategic legal professional to join the Dubai office. You will play a critical role in formalizing the clients' international presence, managing complex multi-regional legal structures, and safeguarding the commercial interests across diverse markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Commercial Contracting & Negotiations:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with global customers and technology partners.
  • Ensure all contracts align with the clients' service models: Advisory, Implementation, and Managed Services.
  • Manage legal relationships with the clients' major technology partners (AI, etc) and a diverse client base in fintech, gaming, and telecoms.

2. Entity Management & Global Expansion:

  • Lead the legal setup and registration of new entities and company structures across EMEA Region
  • Oversee the legal requirements for upcoming office openings in markets such (Saudi, Angola)
  • Ensure compliance with local corporate laws and licensing requirements in each jurisdiction of operation.

3. Policy Development & Governance:

  • Build, implement, and maintain comprehensive corporate policies to standardize operations across global offices.
  • Advise leadership on legal risks associated with Data Analytics, AI, and Cybersecurity domains.
  • Develop frameworks for data privacy and cross-border data transfers in compliance with regional regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience (8+ years) in corporate law, preferably within the technology consulting or IT services industry.
  • Regional Expertise: Strong understanding of legal frameworks in the Middle East and Africa; experience in European markets is a significant plus.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex corporate structuring and entity formation.
  • Sharp commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal risk against business growth objectives.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the client to high-level stakeholders and partners.
  • Education: Law degree from a recognized institution and professional legal certification/bar admission.
