Our client is looking for a Class One Mechanic to join their team.

 

Salary:

Negotiable

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on petrol and diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and other mechanical systems.

  • Diagnose faults accurately using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.

  • Dismantle and reassemble parts and components as required.

  • Conduct vehicle inspections and ensure roadworthiness in line with regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain service and repair records for all work carried out.

  • Recommend necessary parts and equipment for procurement.

  • Perform test drives and function checks after repairs.

  • Work on a variety of vehicles, including light vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, and trailers.

  • Follow all health and safety regulations and ensure a clean and safe working environment.

  • Train and supervise apprentices or junior mechanics as needed.

Key skills:

  • Strong knowledge of diesel and petrol engine systems.

  • Valid driver’s license (Class 2 or above preferred).

  • Experience with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Qualifications:

  • Class One Mechanic Certification or Journeyman Certificate.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical experience.
