Job Description:

The Head of AWS Cloud Solutions is responsible for leading and growing the Group’s AWS cloud project delivery capability. This role ensures that AWS-based solutions are designed and delivered to a high technical standard, aligned with client needs, and executed profitably.

The role focuses on project-based cloud delivery, working closely with Sales, Advisory, Managed Services, and Project Governance to ensure successful outcomes from solution design through to transition into managed services.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of all AWS cloud projects across infrastructure modernisation, application modernisation, data & AI, and business platforms
• Take accountability for cloud project delivery margin and delivery quality
• Define and maintain AWS architecture standards and reference designs
• Provide technical oversight and solution sign-off for AWS engagements
• Build and develop AWS capability, including skills, certifications, and delivery maturity
• Work closely with Advisory to translate client strategies and roadmaps into executable AWS solutions
• Partner with Managed Services to ensure smooth and supportable Build → Run transitions
• Contribute to delivery planning, resource utilisation, and prioritisation
• Engage at C-level with clients, including participation in Project Steering Committees
• Take accountability for accurate budgets, management accounts, and client invoicing

Experience and Capability:

• Strong background in AWS cloud architecture and delivery
• Proven experience leading complex AWS cloud transformation projects, including application modernisation and cloud migrations
• Deep understanding of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, and data platforms
• Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial and delivery discipline
• Comfortable operating in a senior, client-facing delivery leadership role
• Understanding of the application of AI/ML within AWS environments

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in cloud, infrastructure, or technology delivery
• Minimum 5 years leading AWS cloud delivery or engineering teams
• Proven leadership of complex AWS cloud transformation programmes
• Demonstrated accountability for delivery margin, quality, and execution outcomes
• Experience defining AWS architecture standards and engineering governance
• Experience managing end-to-end solution delivery from design through to operations

Technical Authority

Candidates must demonstrate:

• Senior AWS cloud architecture experience
• Leadership over engineers, architects, and technical delivery teams
• Oversight of modern engineering practices (DevOps, automation, platform engineering)

Commercial & Delivery Experience

• Direct responsibility for delivery forecasting, utilisation, and revenue performance
• Client-facing leadership in enterprise AWS transformation engagements

Certifications / Knowledge (Minimum Expectation)

One or more:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• Proven enterprise architecture leadership experience
• Bachelor’s degree or related 3-year diploma (beneficial)
