Job Title: Assistant Lodge Manager

Location:

Eastern Cape, Cacadu District, Graaff-Reinet

Job Duties:

  • Assist the Hospitality Manager in daily operations and management of the lodge
  • Coordinate and supervise staff members to ensure excellent customer service
  • Oversee reservations, check-ins, and check-outs of guests
  • Maintain lodge facilities and ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner
  • Assist in creating and implementing marketing and promotional strategies
  • Manage inventory, supplies, and budgeting for the lodge

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or tourism role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

Education:

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional qualifications in hospitality management are desirable.

Experience:

At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of hospitality operations and customer service principles
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used in the industry
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving common goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field
  • Additional certifications in areas such as food safety or first aid

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily takes place in a lodge setting, involving varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • This is a live in role that will be on a 6 week on 2 week off cycle 
  • Preferably looking for a candidate from the Eastern Cape and if you have a parnter that is a qualified feild guide even better.
