Job Purpose:
To lead and oversee the daily operations of the chemical analytical laboratory, ensuring accurate, reliable, and compliant test results for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the chemical laboratory team, ensuring compliance with GLP and GMP standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all analytical testing activities.
  • Ensure calibration, maintenance, and qualification of analytical instruments.
  • Develop, review, and implement laboratory procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify and approve analytical results and reports.
  • Conduct method validation and transfer as required.
  • Monitor lab performance and ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.
  • Liaise with production, QA, and R&D departments on analytical and quality matters.
  • Train laboratory staff and ensure continuous skill development.
  • Manage laboratory inventory and ensure availability of reagents and consumables.

Technical Experience Required:

  • Must have hands-on experience with:
    • HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
    • UPLC (Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
    • AA (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy)
    • GC (Gas Chromatography)
    • FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
    • Other wet chemistry techniques and analytical instruments.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and method development using these instruments.
  • Familiar with LIMS or electronic laboratory data systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • BSc / BTech / MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of chemical laboratory experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, GLP, and ISO standards (e.g. ISO 17025).
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills.
