Areas of Responsibilities

Project Support

  • Assist in the design and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and buildings.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, feasibility studies, and technical reports.

Site Investigation and Surveys

  • Conduct site visits and surveys to collect relevant data for project design and planning.
  • Assist with the preparation of site investigation reports and the interpretation of survey results.
  • Consult with other engineering disciplines and specialists (e.g. environmental, OHS etc.) to gather necessary site information.

Design and Analysis

  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce detailed engineering designs and plans.
  • Assist in performing technical analysis to ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure designs are in line with project objectives and client requirements.

Construction Supervision

  • Support the supervision of construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Monitor progress on-site and report on any issues or discrepancies that arise.
  • Ensure that materials and workmanship meet the required quality standards.
  • Calculate quantities for relevant BOQ.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure that all designs comply with local, national, and international standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory authorities.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including reports, design calculations, and project specifications.
  • Keep accurate records of project progress, construction activities, and any changes to the original plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for clients and stakeholders.

Health and Safety

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations during project planning, design, and execution.
  • Support the implementation of safety measures on construction sites to ensure the well-being of all personnel.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend project meetings and provide input where necessary to support project development and execution.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and external consultants

Education, Language & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.

Experience

  • Prior internship or work experience in civil engineering (preferred but not required.

Knowledge

  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
  • Basic understanding of project management and construction processes.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
