CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
|
|
To develop, promote and manage the sport activities and profile of Madibaz Sport and recreation programmes at elite, club, residential, recreational, social and outreach levels.
|
|
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
|
- Manage rugby activities and increase student participation in rugby and recreation.
- Oversee contractual arrangements between Madibaz Rugby, players and coaches.
- Manage high-performance rugby programmes for Madibaz Rugby student athletes and provincial/national sporting bodies.
- Manage recreational rugby outreach programmes Madibaz Rugby Club
- Monitor the standard of rugby facilities and equipment.
- Co-ordinate and manage opportunities for participation and hosting of prestige sporting events at a local, regional, and national level.
- Manage human resources in the Madibaz Rugby Club.
- Manage budgets in the Madibaz Rugby Club.
- Manage administration of the Madibaz Rugby Club

Please note that the working hours extend after-hours and weekends. Extensive travelling is also required.

REQUIREMENTS
|
|
To be considered for appointment to the above post, candidates must:
- Possess a degree or diploma in Human Movement Sciences, Sport Management and/or Sport Science.
- Have at least 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in which competency is gained in a higher education or school sport environment.
- An Honors qualification or higher will be an advantage.
- Experience in managing rugby as a code will be an advantage.
