Reservations Consultant – Luxury Lodges & Spa, Stellenbosch
An exciting opportunity to join a world-class hospitality team at a Relais & Châteaux property in the heart of Stellenbosch’s wine country.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, professional, and guest-focused Reservations Consultant to manage bookings for our luxury lodges and spa. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hospitality, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to deliver seamless guest experiences from the very first point of contact.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage all reservation enquiries across phone, email, and online platforms with efficiency and professionalism.
- Process individual and group bookings accurately, ensuring all details are captured in the Property Management System (PMS).
- Verify rates, deposits, confirmations, and guest preferences to guarantee booking accuracy.
- Maintain well-organized records, guest histories, and statistical data to support operational reporting.
- Review daily arrivals and departures, ensuring reservations are properly confirmed and communicated to relevant departments.
- Maximize revenue opportunities through effective upselling and adherence to cancellation/no-show policies.
- Stay fully informed about room categories, facilities, promotions, and third-party booking channels.
- Liaise with Operations, Sales, and Front Office to ensure smooth guest experiences.
- Identify potential sales leads and assist with pre-bookings for spa and lodge facilities.
- Build strong relationships with guests, travel agents, and colleagues while upholding service excellence.
- Support departmental tasks as required, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Requirements
- Matric qualification required; Hospitality or Travel & Tourism diploma advantageous.
- 2–3 years’ prior experience in a reservations role, ideally within a 5-star or luxury environment.
- Proficiency in PMS systems and online travel agency (OTA) platforms.
- Excellent command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Strong sales ability with a guest-centric approach.
- Solid understanding of domestic and international travel markets, including FIT and group bookings.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to peak periods.
- Flexibility to work on a rotational schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
