Link Africa is seeking a skilled and experienced Voice Technician to join our dynamic team in the Build Department of the Gauteng Region, based in Midrand.

The role of the Voice Technician is to complete voice installation and provide technical support for routers and phones, as well as training for clients.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12/Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Valid driver's licence

Experience

  • 2-5 years of networking experience
  • Experience with VOIP systems

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of IP/TCP protocols
  • Familiarity with hosted and onsite PBX systems
  • Knowledge of Mikrotik, Cisco, and Ubiquiti equipment
  • Experience with VOIP phones

Skills

  • Proficient in configuring asterisk PBX server and hosted PBX systems
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Assertive and able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to work overtime and on weekends as needed

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and update mobile work apps
  • Manage schedules and plan workday effectively
  • Perform on-site installations of routers, VOIP phones, and related equipment
  • Maintain minimum stock levels and update inventory daily
  • Respond promptly to on-site call outs for installations and technical issues
  • Provide feedback to relevant departments regarding call outs
  • Complete in-office configurations of equipment as needed
  • Escalate any problems to relevant departments in a timely manner
  • Ensure quality assurance standards are met
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Identify and manage potential risks
  • Maintain and care for company vehicles, equipment, and tools
  • Ensure all company vehicles, equipment, and tools are in good working condition; arrange for repairs or replacements as needed
