Public Areas Attendant | Newlands, Cape Town

We are looking to recruit a Public Areas Attendant to provide the daily cleaning service of all public areas and to act as support staff for other areas within the housekeeping and laundry departments.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Keep all guest areas like lobbies, hallways, elevators, and entrances clean, neat, and welcoming always.
  2. Clean public restrooms regularly and make sure they always have enough toilet paper, soap, and towels.
  3. Report any broken items, spills, or safety problems to your supervisor right away.
  4. Be friendly and helpful to guests in public areas and answer simple questions politely.
  5. Use cleaning tools and products safely and the right way, following hotel rules.
  6. Complete daily cleaning tasks on time, including both regular and deep cleaning jobs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (NQF Level 4) is required
  • Shift work including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous experience in a similar role (housekeeping, janitorial, or public area cleaning) is advantageous but not essential
  • Satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment of the nature, severity, relevance, and recency of any offence
