Across our 349-room, seven-floor hotel, our Safety & Security team plays an important role in protecting our guests, employees and assets while contributing to the professional and welcoming experience our guests expect.
As we continue our journey toward luxury, we’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Assistant Safety & Security Manager to support our Director of Safety & Security in leading the hotel’s security operation. This is a highly operational role requiring someone who is confident managing people, responding to incidents, conducting investigations and risk assessments, overseeing outsourced security services, and engaging professionally with guests.
The successful candidate will help oversee a roster of approximately 28 outsourced security personnel, with approximately 12 security personnel per shift, including senior supervisors, shift supervisors, control room operators and security officers. Strong leadership, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm and decisive in challenging situations are essential.

Minimum Requirements
• Relevant Security, Safety, Risk Management or related qualification advantageous
• Proven security management or supervisory experience
• Previous experience managing and leading security personnel essential
• Hospitality or hotel security management experience highly advantageous
• Experience managing outsourced security service providers advantageous
• Strong knowledge of security operations, procedures and protocols
• Experience conducting risk and threat assessments and developing appropriate security plans
• Proven investigations and incident management experience
• Experience with loss prevention and asset protection
• Good knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements
• Experience with emergency procedures, evacuation drills and emergency preparedness
• Strong conflict-management and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing employee performance and disciplinary matters
• Strong guest relations and customer service skills
• Ability to deal professionally and discreetly with sensitive guest and employee matters
• Strong report-writing and administrative skills
• Ability to monitor contractor performance against agreed KPIs and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage and monitor parking revenue performance
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to remain calm, professional and decisive during emergencies and high-pressure situations

What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting the Director of Safety & Security with the overall management of hotel safety and security operations
• Helping oversee approximately 28 outsourced security personnel across the hotel security roster
• Managing approximately 12 security personnel per shift, including senior supervisors, shift supervisors, control room operators and security officers
• Ensuring appropriate security coverage across the hotel’s 349 rooms, seven floors, public areas, operational areas and parking facilities
• Conducting regular safety and security briefings for employees and, where appropriate, guests
• Ensuring compliance with hotel security protocols, occupational health and safety requirements and established procedures
• Conducting risk and threat assessments, preparing reports and implementing appropriate security plans and preventative measures
• Investigating security incidents, accidents, losses and other reported matters and ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Identifying the root causes of incidents and implementing preventative measures to minimise future occurrences
• Managing emergency situations and coordinating appropriate responses when required
• Executing evacuation drills in the absence of the Director of Safety & Security
• Ensuring emergency equipment and security resources are appropriately maintained, available and operational
• Monitoring security systems and supporting effective control-room operations
• Managing guest interactions professionally and ensuring security procedures are implemented without compromising the guest experience
• Handling difficult or sensitive situations calmly, professionally and discreetly
• Overseeing parking revenue management and working to ensure the hotel meets or exceeds its parking revenue budget
• Monitoring the performance of Fidelity ADT and ensuring service delivery meets the hotel’s agreed KPIs, SLAs and security standards
• Supporting the management of the outsourced security contract and addressing performance or service-delivery concerns
• Maintaining accurate security records, incident reports, investigation documentation and operational reports
• Representing The President Hotel’s Safety & Security leadership at meetings and other operational forums when required
• Working closely with Front Office, Guest Experience, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage and other hotel departments to maintain a safe and secure environment
• Leading, coaching and training security personnel to maintain consistently high operational standards
• Managing performance concerns and supporting disciplinary procedures when required
• Continuously identifying opportunities to strengthen safety, security, loss prevention and emergency preparedness
• Ensuring the Safety & Security operation consistently reflects the professional and elevated standards expected at The President Hotel
