Dotcom has been operating since 2012. Our cutting-edge software and innovative solutions has offered revolutionised results to various sectors. Our experienced footprint has grown globally and is consistently expanding.

PaaS & SaaS is Dotcom’s product engine and the home of the group’s intellectual property. We are a small, autonomous team that has spent several years building and running multi-tenant platforms, including ExoForm (no-code/low-code digital forms), ExoPath (workflow automation) and ExoCast (remote media management), using Agile practices and Azure DevOps.

We are now delivering a large customer engagement alongside our product work, and we are looking for an experienced business analyst to help us do it well. To support requirements gathering and documentation for this engagement. You will work with the client’s engineers and our product owner and development team to turn a large body of paper-based technical documentation and undefined integration needs into clear, structured, traceable requirements that the team can configure, build and test against. Because we do not have a dedicated BA function, you will also have real influence over how requirements are documented, structured and governed from day one.

12 month contract

Hybrid - 2 days in office - Centurion based (South Africa)

Minimum 5 years Business Analysis experience

Key Requirements:

  • Plan and run requirements elicitation with the client’s turbine engineers, supervisors, quality staff and OEM stakeholders, through workshops, interviews and on-site observation of how check sheets are used during outages.
  • Catalogue and classify the client’s check sheets by equipment type, manufacturer and model, to establish where templates can be reused across stations and to size the remaining documentation and template-authoring effort.
  • Document the requirements for each check sheet type in a form that can be configured directly on ExoForm and ExoPath: structure, measurements and inputs, specification limits and tolerances, approval levels, and the rules that trigger alerts and escalations.
  • Map current-state and target-state processes across the closed loop: check sheet creation, execution, approval and rejection, escalation, storage, retrieval and reporting.
  • Elicit and document integration requirements with the client’s systems (such as SAP, SolidWorks, Bentley and Microsoft services), together with non-functional requirements including offline operation, security, audit and reporting.
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates and requirements traceability, so that the work is consistent, reviewable and can be handed over.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria, and refine the backlog with the product owner and development team, distinguishing what can be met through configuration from what requires new platform capability.
  • Provide requirements and context to the independent testing team, and support user acceptance testing with the client.
  • Manage requirements change, including controlled change management when check sheet templates are updated.
  • Contribute to training and knowledge-transfer material so that the client can create and manage its own check sheets.
  • Report progress, risks and open questions to project leadership, and raise problems early.
  • Travel to power stations and client workshops as required, and comply with site access and safety requirements.

Skills and Requirments:

  • Solid commercial experience as a business analyst on software delivery projects, from elicitation through to acceptance.
  • Elicitation: strong experience running workshops and interviews with technical, non-IT stakeholders and drawing out how work is actually done.
  • Documentation: a proven ability to produce clear, structured requirements — user stories, acceptance criteria, business and functional requirements and process models (BPMN or equivalent).
  • Traceability: experience managing a large volume of requirements or documents, with structured cataloguing, classification and traceability.
  • Agile: experience working in an Agile team and managing a backlog, ideally in Azure DevOps.
  • Integration: working understanding of APIs, data mapping and identity (Azure AD / Entra ID), sufficient to elicit and document integration requirements with technical teams.
  • Data analysis: comfortable analysing and summarising large data sets in Excel or a comparable tool.
  • Communication: excellent written and verbal communication, and the confidence to facilitate discussion with senior engineers.
  • Location: based in Gauteng and willing to work from our Centurion office at least two days per week, and to travel to sites as needed.

All appointments will be made in line with the Company’s Employment Equity Plan.
