CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To lecture Human Resource Management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, lead postgraduate teaching in advanced HRM theories, strategic HRM, and Organisational Behaviour, conduct and publish research within the field of Human Resource Management; lead postgraduate research and curriculum development within the department. The primary focus of this post is focused on lecturing HRM at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, complemented by leadership in research, postgraduate supervision, and academic development.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
|
- Provide leadership in learning, teaching, and assessment processes in HRM and Organisational Studies
- Facilitate teaching and learning of Human Resource Management, strategic HRM, and Organisational Behaviour
- Provide postgrad supervision at Advanced diploma, master’s and Doctoral (PhD) levels.
- Engage in independent and collaborative research in Human Resource Management, strategic HRM, and Organisational Behaviour
- Co-ordinate postgraduate programmes
- Participate in academic leadership, departmental administration, committee work, and faculty governance as assigned by the Head of Department or Director of the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resources
- Lead and engage in meaningful community, professional, and industry engagement initiatives within the HRM domain.
- Collaborate with other members of the Department of Human Resource Management, as well as the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resources
- Provide academic administration and academic leadership

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment to the Associate Professor, candidates must:
- Be in possession of a Doctorate degree (Human Resource Management or Labour Relations).
- Have 3 - 7 years’ experience in facilitating learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- A proven track record of successful research supervision and examination of postgraduate students (Honours, Master’s and Doctoral)
- Demonstrate a record of published journal articles in accredited journals
- Show evidence of presented research findings at conferences.
- Relevant business and/or consulting experience would be an added advantage
In order to be considered for appointment to the Professor post, candidates must:
- Have a relevant Doctoral degree (Human Resource Management or Labour Relations) with two years working experience as an Associate Professor
- Have extensive experience in facilitating learning of adult and post-graduate learners
- A proven track record of:
- Supervising Master’s and Doctoral students to completion
- Leading research productivity in HRM, Organisational behaviour or Employment Relations
- Demonstrate a record of published journal articles in accredited journals and book chapters.
- Show evidence of presented research findings at conferences.
- Show evidence of a strong track record of successful research supervision and examination of postgraduate students,
- Relevant business and/or consulting experience would be an added advantage.
