Main Purpose of the Job
- Execute occupational health and primary healthcare duties, including HIV management.
- Undertake occupational health administration and reception management duties.
- Assist the Occupational Medical Practitioner with all on-site clinic duties.
- Implement and manage workplace risks identified via wellness programmes.
- Conduct professional HIV counselling, testing, and treatment.
- Conduct comprehensive annual and pre-employment medical examinations.
- Utilise primary healthcare principles to promote health and wellness at all organisational levels.
- Provide counselling to employees regarding work-related illnesses or psychosocial issues.
- Diagnose and treat patients in accordance with Nursing Diagnosis and Management guidelines.
- Manage dispensary stock levels to ensure a sufficient and continuous supply of medication.
- Coordinate the ordering and replenishment of medication from approved suppliers.
- Maintain a clean, compliant dispensary environment, ensuring all medication is securely locked away.
- Administer Injury on Duty (IOD) treatment protocols, records, and COIDA claims administration.
- Work closely with the SHE team to participate in and prepare for health and safety audits, inspections, and health promotion programmes.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Diploma or Degree in General Nursing, with an additional qualification in Occupational Health Nursing.
- Valid registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
- Valid Certificate in Dispensing.
- At least 5 years of practical experience in a Primary Healthcare (PHC) environment.
- Extensive experience in HIV counselling, testing, and treatment management.
- Competent and computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, and associated corporate packages.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with doctors, patients, and colleagues.
- Proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
