Role purpose Maintain, secure and improve the Group's core IT infrastructure while providing advanced Level 2 and Level 3 support. The role ensures that servers, Microsoft platforms, backups, networks and security systems remain reliable, monitored, documented and aligned with approved IT standards.
Key responsibilities • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services and related infrastructure. • Manage Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration, including identities, access, Exchange Online, Teams and security controls. • Maintain virtual servers, storage, operating systems, patching, monitoring, capacity and infrastructure availability. • Administer backup and recovery platforms; monitor jobs, investigate failures and perform scheduled restore testing. • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support, resolve complex incidents and guide service desk staff through technical escalations. • Support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewall and SD-WAN troubleshooting, escalating specialist configuration where required. • Operate endpoint, vulnerability, EDR, SIEM and security monitoring tools; investigate alerts and remediate approved findings. • Deliver approved infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, site rollouts and technical changes with minimal disruption. • Maintain accurate diagrams, configurations, procedures, asset records and disaster-recovery documentation. • Manage vendor escalations, track technical actions and ensure external access and changes follow Group IT controls. • Participate in planned after-hours maintenance and priority incident response when required. • Comply with security, privacy, change-management and access-control requirements; escalate risks immediately.
Qualifications and experience • Diploma in Information Technology or • Microsoft certifications such as MCSE, MCSA or their current equivalents • CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications • Azure, Microsoft 365, Fortinet or Cisco certifications would be advantageous • At least five years of systems administration or infrastructure support experience in a multi-site environment. • Strong practical experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Windows Server, virtualisation, backups and networking. • Experience with PowerShell, infrastructure monitoring, security tooling and technical documentation is strongly preferred.
