Job Description

Our Client is seeking a Data Engineering Test Analyst to lead the quality assurance and testing of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and BI/reporting solutions, ensuring data is accurate, reliable and fit for business use. The role combines hands-on SQL/data testing, test leadership, UAT coordination and stakeholder management.

A strong data-testing professional with advanced SQL capability, proven test leadership and UAT experience. Must be analytical, quality-focused and capable of bridging business and technology while maintaining a strong understanding of the broader business context.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the test strategy across SIT, data validation, regression and UAT.
• Perform source-to-target validation, reconciliation, row-count checks, transformation testing and business-rule validation.
• Develop repeatable test approaches and automated data-quality checks.
• Manage defects, triage, root-cause analysis and resolution tracking.
• Lead and mentor testers and coordinate testing priorities and resources.
• Plan and manage UAT, including scope, scenarios, entry/exit criteria, execution and business sign-off.
• Manage testing risks, dependencies and go-live readiness.
• Engage effectively with Business, SMEs and technical teams.
• Provide clear reporting on quality, coverage, defects and testing status.

 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years’ experience in QA/data testing, including 2+ years in a Test Lead or coordination role.
• Advanced SQL skills.
• Strong ETL/ELT and data warehouse testing experience.
• Understanding of Kimball and/or Data Vault concepts.
• Experience with SIT, regression and UAT.
• Financial services or short-term insurance experience is advantageous.
• Exposure to Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Power BI or Qlik.

Advantageous

• Guidewire, TIA or similar insurance platform experience.
• Python for test automation and data validation.
• Cloud migration or Medallion Architecture experience.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
