Flavour Mixer Operator


Operations
Accountable for quality, standards, service and desired outputs within inter-related functional areas of responsibility. May be responsible for work of others. This role will work with various closely related concrete variables, requiring an understanding of the theory or practices underpinning inter-related functional processes.


Job Purpose
Ensure syrups and flavours are processed timeously, in accordance with specific recipes, to enable production requirements.


Key Accountabilities and Outputs
Operating of Processes
Mix the required syrups for production according to the production plan
Conduct quality checks for all syrups made (odour and appearance)
Fill, complete and submit related paperwork (traceability, MRP, CIP, etc.)
Perform CIPs for tanks and associated equipment
Do basic maintenance on equipment (cleaning and lubrication) according to schedule
Do housekeeping in accordance with 5S and GMP rules
Daily stock count
Operate flavour room machinery in a safe and efficient manner
Operate the forklift
Coach and train new personnel
Attend meetings and present to management in the absence of the Team Leader
Report and escalate breakdowns for speedy repairs
Stand in when the Team Leader is not available
Work alone as well as in a team
Be responsible for driving own development
Documentation as per QMS

First-Level Maintenance and Equipment Care
• Conduct routine equipment inspections before start-up and during operation.
• Clean, inspect and lubricate equipment in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule.
• Identify abnormal noise, vibration, temperature, leakage, damage or equipment performance.
• Perform minor adjustments and basic first-level maintenance tasks within the employee’s training
and authorisation.
• Report and escalate equipment defects or breakdowns promptly.
• Assist the Technical team during planned maintenance, where required.
• Complete the relevant inspection and maintenance records.
• Conduct routine inspections of pumps, stirrers, valves, hoses and seals, and identify and report any
visible leaks or defects.
• Cleaning and lubrication tasks listed in the autonomous-maintenance schedule.
Health, Safety, Quality and FSSC 22000
• Ensure adherence to FIFO and FEFO principles
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Maintain a healthy work environment
• Complete IMS (Integrated Management System) documents
• Adhere to all Food Safety Standards and report on all Food Safety Management System issues to the


Food Safety Team
• Ensure Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRP 2, OPRP 3 & OPRP 4) are measured, monitored anverified at predetermined frequencies as per the SOP

Qualifications and Experience


Qualification
• Grade 12


Experience
• 6 months' syrup manufacturing experience
• 1 year's experience in the beverage industry
